Supreme Court Says Video Alleging Sale of Aborted Baby Parts Can’t Be Released

After two lower court decisions blocked the release of an undercover video that allegedly shows abortion providers engaging in illegal sale of aborted baby tissue, the Supreme Court has killed an appeal for the videos to be released.

The original gag order halting the release of the video, from California-based Center for Medical Progress, came down from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in 2016. The attempt for an appeal was denied without comment from the Supreme Court.

Troy Newman, one of the defendants represented by the American Center for Law and Justice, said in a Monday statement he would continue to stand firm as a pro-life activist. “We pray that one day the full truth will come out, and those who have committed crimes will be held accountable,” he said. The video in question was released by CMP in 2015. It is purported to show Planned Parenthood doctors profiting from the sale of aborted baby tissue. Pro-life activism saw a huge spark in the wake of the video, while pro-choice advocates maintain the video was edited to smear the abortion providers.
