In a troubling new survey featured in the recent documentary Porn: What’s the Harm?, the BBC found that one in every four young people said they had seen Internet pornography by the age of 12. The researchers polled about 1,000 young people and also found that one third of them first encountered porn accidentally “either through searching for something else, a misleading link, or on social media.” Half of all of those surveyed said that viewing sexually explicit material online changed their own expectations of sex.
