Theodore Wafer, the Detroit man who shot and killed 19-year-old Renisha McBride when she started pounding on his door after a car wreck, has been found guilty of second degree murder. The jury found Wafer guilty on all counts after two days of deliberation, and he will be sentenced later this month. The trial has been closely watched, as Wafer never denied shooting McBride, saying that he was startled into shooting her in the face with his shotgun when she surprised him on the side of his porch early last November. McBride was intoxicated and had wandered away from a car crash a half mile from Wafer’s house. “She was a young girl looking for help,” prosecutor Patrick Muscat told jurors. “What he did had to be immediately necessary and it wasn’t. It was reckless. It was negligent. I don’t know how to describe it. It was horrific” …
