Things Are Not Looking Good For Netflix

Netflix has been having a rough year so far — to date they’ve lost 1.2 million subscribers — and it looks like things are about to get worse.

A new survey from reviews.org found that one in four Netflix users say they’re seriously considering canceling their subscription. That comes out to about 18 million US users, leaving the streaming company in a $272 million hole.

It’s not entirely Netflix’s fault that users are leaving. Rising inflation means that the cost of living is increasing for everything, and people are having to seriously reevaluate their budgets. For many, this means letting go of the extras in life like streaming services.

Still, Netflix isn’t necessarily doing much to keep people around, either. The streaming service has increased their prices – likely to keep up with inflation – while not offering anything new. They’ve cut and canceled shows with small but dedicated fanbases, leaving users frustrated with the service.

If Netflix doesn’t find a way to turn it around, there’s a good chance their heading toward the fate of one of the streaming services most memorable characters:
