This Lake With a Giant Hole in It Is Surreal Looking

The state of California has been getting a lot of rain lately, and that’s caused Napa Valley’s Lake Berryessa to actually drain millions of gallons of water. The spillway actually has a giant concrete funnel built into it, so that when the water level gets too high, it doesn’t flood.

Watching it drain—which it did for the first time in a decade this month—is pretty surreal.
