Following a night of meetings with EU officials and opposition leaders, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych announced that he agrees to holding early elections and would reform the constitution to limit his office’s powers. The announcement comes after weeks of protesting from demonstrators demanding pro-Western reforms in the country that still holds strong ties to Russia. The demonstrations came to a head this week, when police and snipers cracked down on the protestors.
