Officials at the University of Chicago have shut down the school’s campus in Hyde Park after they received a message that said there would be a shooting at the school today. The FBI told the school that the threat even named a specific time and place on campus. In a statement, school administrators said, “Based on the FBI’s assessment of this threat and recent tragic events at other campuses across the country, we have decided in consultation with federal and local law enforcement officials, to exercise caution by canceling all classes and activities on the Hyde Park campus through midnight on Monday.”
