Ten people have been injured and one man is dead in London after a van careened off the street and struck a group of Muslims outside the Muslim Welfare House in Finsbury Park. A witness named Abdul Rahman told the BBC: “When the guy came out from his van he wanted to escape, run away, and he was saying, ‘I want to kill Muslims.’I want to kill Muslims.'”
Rahman and some other worshippers tackled the man and held him until the police arrived.
The van drove into a group of people who were apparently already administering first aid to a man who had collapsed on the pavement. That man later died, though it was unclear if he succumbed to injuries related to the attack or something else. Ten others were treated for injuries, with eight of the victims described as being in “serious condition.”
Prime Minister Theresa May described the attacks as “every bit as sickening” as the other attacks that have rocked the UK in recent weeks.
