A Walmart Store Is Holding a Thanksgiving Charity Food Drive For Its Own Employees

For crying out loud. On the one hand, it is, in a way, thoughtful for the powers that be at a Walmart in Canton, Ohio to recognize the need among their employees and hold a charity food drive for them. On the other hand, that is a remarkable sentence to even read out loud, because it means that some Walmart employees are being paid so little that the store is being forced to take drastic measures just to ensure their employees can celebrate Thanksgiving.

This is the latest in a string of pretty bad press days for the corporate giant, which includes topping Yahoo’s 24/7 column about America’s ten worst paying companies and a controversial decision to kick off their Black Friday deals at 6 o’clock on Thursday …
