Natalie Heimel and Ed Mallue Jr. are two Army captains whose planned wedding on the gorgeous golf course on Marine Corps Base Hawaii got suddenly bumped by a game of golf President Barack Obama was playing with some colleagues. They had to shuffle their wedding up above the 16th hole, which was just one more hassle on a wedding day full of them. However, it resulted in a pretty memorable moment, because when the President learned what had happened, he phoned the bride and groom to offer his apologies.

“Listen,” he said, in a phone call provided to CNN. “Congratulations on your wedding. I feel terrible. Nobody told us. If they had just mentioned that they were going to have a wedding on the 16th hole, we would have skipped the 16th hole.” The couple told him it was no problem, and the President thanked them for their service. So, they got a phone call from the President, the President got his game of golf and we get this great picture of the moment. A true happy ending. Congratulations, love birds …
