Egyptian Muslims are rushing to the aid of Coptic Christians, who are facing attacks from extremists, according to a Catholic priest in the area.
Recently, there have been attacks on Coptic Christians by local Muslim extremist groups, causing the Christians to leave their homes in search for safety. And in response, the Catholic priest told the Catholic News Service that Muslim neighbors have been the “first on scene” to help the Christians—helping injured people to hospitals.

In the last month alone, there have been seven attacks on the Copts.
Egyptian officials say that the extremists are “strongly entrenched” in Northern Egypt, but many outreach groups are calling on the government to do something to help the Copts.
