In a message posted on her website yesterday, worship leader, songwriter and minister Darlene Zschech informed friends and fans that she is receiving treatment for breast cancer. “On Wednesday, December 11, at a routine mammogram, the doctors discovered that I had developed breast cancer. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of appointments, scans and surgery.”
Zschech is the former worship leader at Hillsong Church in Australia, and has helped compose and write some of the most well-known contemporary worship songs in the world including “Shout to the Lord,” “Mighty to Save” and “All Things Are Possible.” Throughout her career she’s worked with artists including Martin Smith, Reuben Morgan and Joel Houston and her music has even been featured on American Idol. In her letter, she said, “It brings me no end of comfort to know that you will be praying for my swift recovery. Let’s stand together and pray for ALL of those walking through such challenges at this time. Praise God that His name is GREATER than anything we are facing!” …
