A new poll released by Barna shows a sharp contrast between Christian boomers and Christian millennials regarding their view of the death penalty. According to the study, 42 percent of self-identified Christian boomers support the death penalty, as opposed to only 32 percent of Millennials. Among what Barna calls “practicing Christians”—those who say faith is “very important” in their lives and have attended church at least once in the past month—the margin is even wider. Fully half of practicing Christian boomers support the death penalty, while just 23 percent of practicing Christian millennials agree.
