
The artist behind the “Grace with Light” art installation at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral Episcopal Church used almost 20 miles of fabric to create the symbolic worship experience. The church’s “artist in residence”, Anne Patterson, hung more than 600 ribbons, drawing on colors from the stained glass windows, from the building’s massive vaulted ceilings to create the surreal effect. The installation is accompanied by custom music, a film experience and an interactive element in which parishioners write their “dreams, prayers and wishes” on designated ribbons during a workshop. “Grace with Light” will be on display through the end of February …
