YouVersion released their year-end summary recently, which has a lot of interesting parts to it, one of them being the verse of the year listed by country and for the world in general.
Joshua 1:9 was the most shared, bookmarked and highlighted verse in 2017. It reads: “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
The report also breaks down the popular verses by country. In countries where it wasn’t Joshua 1:9, Jeremiah 29:11 (the U.K., Singapore, Philippines, Nigeria, Malaysia, Japan, Kenya, Ghana, Indonesia, Canada) and Romans 8:28 (the U.S., Romania, Russia, Taiwan) ranked high.
The summary also emphasizes the reach the Bible is able to have through the app, with countries like Angola experiencing a 733 percent growth in access to the Bible, Mozambique with a 243 percent increase and India at 228 percent, to name a few.
