A Florida woman is bristling over her former church’s plan to publicly expose personal details of her life to the congregation. Rebecca Hancock of Jacksonville, Fla., was told her relationship with her boyfriend was sinful, and was given an ultimatum by her church—Grace Community Church—to leave him or have details of their relationship exposed to the congregation. While Hancock is angry that the church would publicly disclose details from private conversations with staff members, the church stands by its decision, saying they are following biblical practices of accountability. Of course, the whole thing seems moot given the fact that Hancock’s personal details have already been exposed by national news agencies.
