Queen to be Ousted as Church Head?

Queen Elizabeth II may be ousted as the ceremonial head of the Church of England. The British monarch has acted as the head of the Anglican Church since its inception, but this move comes after Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rown Williams said he could foresee a day when the church severed ties with the monarchy. With growing calls for separation of church and state in England, Williams’ comment has gained support in Parliament, with pressure coming from the Labour party to “disestablish” the Anglican Church.
