Jim Wallis Issues Statement on Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

On Jan. 22, the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Sojourners president Jim Wallis issued a statement calling for a change in the debate over abortion. In the statement, Wallis calls for pro-life and pro-choice advocates to try to find common ground over the basic sanctity of human life and the reduction of abortion, despite differences on the legality of abortion. “On this day may we all pledge to change the polarized debate on abortion, to enter into a new conversation on abortion, and to seek a new common ground movement to dramatically reduce abortion as a step to which we can all agree,” Wallis said.
