North Dakota Votes on Abortion

The North Dakota state legislature rejected a bill granting personhood to unborn children. Pro-life groups had hoped the bill would present a legal precedent for overturning Roe v. Wade. While overturning this bill, the legislature passed another requiring doctors to perform an ultrasound before giving an abortion, and to inform women seeking abortions that “the abortion will terminate the life of a separate, unique living human being.”
