Americans Would Rather Get an “IRS” Tattoo or Clean Prison Toilets Than Deal With Their Taxes

Tax season — you either love it, or you’re a normal person!

There’s obviously worse things in the world than dealing with taxes, but there’s something about tax season that people really dislike. WalletHub set out to discover just how much people hate doing their taxes, and what hoops would they jump through to get out of it.

It turns out, people are willing to do a lot to avoid dealing with taxes.

When it comes to a tax free-future, 39 percent of people said they’d move to a different country, 37 percent would get an “IRS” tattoo, 23 percent would stop talking for 6 months, 14 percent would name their child “taxes” and 10 percent would clean prison toilets for three years.

The survey also asked people what they’d rather do with their time instead of filing taxes, and the answers were jaw-dropping. Forty-nine percent of people would rather do jury duty than do their taxes, while 26 percent would miss a connecting flight, 15 percent would swim with sharks, and 13 percent would drink expired milk.

Suffice to say, people really hate taxes.
