Right now might not be a bad time to be single.
A new survey from Lendingtree has found that 22 percent of millennials and 19 percent of Gen Zers have gone into debt from they’ve spent on dating.
The average cost of a date these days is a whopping $91 for a night out overall. Women say they would spend $81 on average during a date, while men say they spend an average of $104.
You may be wondering what these dates consist of, but it’s noting fancy. However, the cost of ride-share companies, meals, concerts and even new clothes have risen in price across the board and can add up pretty quickly.
Of course, no one is saying that a date has to include fancy meals and a costly night out on the town. In fact, there’s plenty of cheap date options out there to remind us of J. Lo’s wise words: “Love don’t cost a thing.”
