Now, nobody panic. Take a seat. Take some deep breaths. Well, not too deep—that’s actually what got us in this mess to begin with. The Irwindale City Council declared the factory that produces the tasty, wildly popular Sriracha hot sauce is a public nuisance, on account of the horrid smell the factory generates. The denizens of Irwindale have been complaining about the Sriracha factory for years, saying the odor burns their eyes, causes nosebleeds and even inflames asthma. So, they’re clearly not thinking of us, the consumers, and what we’re going to do without Sriricha. We may have to figure it out for ourselves, because the court has ruled that if Sriracha hasn’t found an odor-free way to make their sauce in 90 days, they’ll be shut down …
