Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek Idea Might Be Taking Off

Sources told Deadline last night that Quentin Tarantino, acclaimed and controversial director of Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained, has shared an idea for a Star Trek movie with franchise veteran J.J. Abrams. The plan, according to the report, is to assemble a writer’s room that will turn the idea into a complete script, with the goal to ultimately make a movie helmed by Tarantino and produced by Abrams.

Tarantino’s been public about his desire to cap his directing career at 10 movies, which for some film buffs makes his potential move to a franchise concerning, as it comes at the cost of original material.

Others, though, want to see the Star Trek universe tinged with some Tarantino flavor, which in this case means a generous splash of bright-red blood stains and a steady sprinkling of Spock dropping “F” bombs.
