Huh. LifeWay Christian Store, known the world over as the place where you used to go to buy Relient K CDs on the way to register for the church summer youth camp, has been named one of America’s top 300 midsize employers by Forbes Magazine—No. 168, to be exact.
“To be recognized by Forbes is certainly an honor,” LifeWay President and CEO Thom S. Rainer told Baptist Press. “This underscores what we’ve known for years—that LifeWay is a great place to work.”
Well, we haven’t all known that for years, but it’s still nice to know it now.
LifeWay wasn’t the only familiar name on the list. Baylor University cracked the list at No. 128, Chick-fil-A came in at No. 257 and Wycliffe Bible Translators landed at a whopping No. 20. But they all fell to cosmetic retailer LUSH, which snagged the top spot. So if you’re looking at handing out resumes, now you know where to start.
