It feels a little strange to laud applause on Amy Adams—gifted actress and evidently nice lady—when she very clearly was just looking to quietly do something nice for someone else, but good deeds are too rare a commodity in this life to not give out a little recognition where you can. It turns out Adams noticed an American soldier would be sitting in coach (ugh. Can you imagine?) on her flight, and quietly arranged for their seats to be switched. She would have gotten away with it too, if not for Jemele Hill, co-host of ESPN2’s Numbers Never Lie and sharp-eyed observer of flight seat changes, who blew the whole thing wide open. So, may we all take a lesson from Adams and remember to offer kindness to others whenever we can, even if ABC doesn’t necessarily take notice of it …
