Chris Brown, America’s prince of hearts, is facing a rare instance in which he may actually be punished for alleged wrongs. Following the investigation of a fender bender last month, Brown is being charged with a hit-and-run and driving without a license. Normally, this wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but since it’d violate Brown’s probation, he could be looking at up to four years in prison.
Brown took to Twitter to offer his defense: the media’s bullying him, the woman he hit wanted to cause a scene, the hit didn’t even do any damage, and even if it did a little damage, nobody’s perfect, so why won’t everyone leave him alone? Then, most notably, he quoted 2 Corinthians 12:10—”That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” We’re not ones to condemn someone relying on Scripture to get them through difficult times, but we’re also not positive that’s the most theologically accurate take on that verse …
