The EPA Wants to Dramatically Cut Carbon Emissions

This week, President Obama will enact one of the biggest measures ever by the United States to cut carbon emissions and fight climate change. His administration is setting new limits on the amount of carbon dioxide from power plants, with the goal of cutting emissions by a full 30 percent by the year 2030. Critics of the plan, like the president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers say that by limiting the use of coal, the plan could “singlehandedly eliminate this competitive advantage by removing reliable and abundant sources of energy from our nation’s energy mix.” However, the White House hopes that the new laws are not only an important step in combating global warming, but could also encourage other large countries to take similar carbon-cutting measures …
