It follows their lives as not only mother-daughter superstars, but also best friends and was originally slated to release on HBO later this year, but with the pair’s sudden death’s last week, HBO moved the release date up to this weekend.
In the trailer, Fisher is preparing to film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is helping her mother pack and talks about the way aging effects people, in reference to her mother. Reynolds is performing, receiving awards, refusing to get a newer cell phone and talks about mental illness, in reference to Fisher.
The documentary airs on HBO January 7 at 8 p.m. and is sure to be emotional.
