Before the filmmaker sat out to make a blockbuster epic about Noah’s ark (which pulled in more than $44 million during its opening weekend), young Darren Aronofsky wrote a simple poem about the biblical hero. This copy of the poem (pictured below), was penned by Aronofsky when he was a 13-year-old 7th grader in Brooklyn in the early ‘80s for a school project. His teacher was so impressed with the work that she entered “The Dove” into a poetry contest at the UN, where it ended up winning a prize for its theme of peace.
