JK Rowling and Aziz Ansari Blast Rupert Murdoch for Ignorant Tweet about Muslims

This weekend, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch for some reason thought it would be a good idea to let the world know exactly what he thought about “Moslems.” His tweet read: “Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible.” Unsurprisingly, the fact that one of the most powerful media executives on the planet insinuated that millions of Muslims around the world be responsible for the violent actions of a relatively small number of radicals (many of whom target other Muslims), did not go over well.

Author J.K. Rowling and comedian Aziz Ansari (warning, his posts contain some profanity) were among the Twitter masses to expose Murdoch’s insane logic. Rowling Tweeted, “I was born Christian. If that makes Rupert Murdoch my responsibility, I’ll auto-excommunicate.” When a follower replied with, “I personally never stop apologising for the crusades,” she wrote, “The Spanish Inquisition was my fault, as is all Christian fundamentalist violence. Oh, and Jim Bakker.” Ansari Tweeted to Murdoch, “PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO STOP ANY AND ALL CRIMES COMMITTED BY PEOPLE OF YOUR RELIGION???!!!” before launching a series of tweet’s with the hashtag #RupertsFault with quips like: “You are Catholic, why are you not hunting pedophiles? #RupertsFault” and “Anytime a Christian person rear ended your car. #RupertsFault.” It wasn’t long before other users got involved with gems like this: “The popularity of The Big Bang Theory #Rupertsfault” …
