Jon Stewart is taking a summer hiatus from The Daily Show to direct a movie he also wrote. The movie is called Rosewater and it’s based on the harrowing true story of UK journalist Maziar Bahari’s capture, imprisonment and interrogation in Iran. Some of this might be recompense for The Daily Show‘s involvement in Bahari’s ordeal: his interview with Stewart was part of the reason the Iranian government suspected him of being a spy.
