Stephen Colbert is ramping up for his new role as host of CBS’s The Late Show, and has just named New Orleans Jazz musician Jon Batiste as his band leader. Batiste—who’s only 28 years old—is already a decorated artist. In addition to having a master’s degree from Juilliard, he’s performed with artists including Prince and Lenny Kravitz, played himself on the HBO show Treme, served as the Artistic Director at Large of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem and even held the top spot on Billboard’s jazz chart.
