Janet Thies-Keogh, a Chicago woman on trial for suffocating her infant son, has been acquitted of wrongdoing due to her postpartum psychosis. Thies-Keogh waited until her husband had left the house before smothering her eight-month-old with a pillow, an act her defense attorney says she cannot be held accountable for, owing to her fragmented mental state brought on by a severe bout of postpartum depression.
