Star-Lord and Captain America Just Made a Heroic Super Bowl Bet

Two of the universe’s greatest heroes have become mortal foes, and the NFL is to thank. It started when Chris Evans, better known as Captain America, tweeted Chris Pratt (aka, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord) some good-natured football smack talk. Pratt is an avowed Seahawks fan. And what other team would Captain America be cheering for other than the Patriots?

Well, as fate would have it, the Patriots and the Seahawks just happen to be squaring off in the Super Bowl next weekend. Evans tweeted to Pratt, “Well, well, well @prattprattpratt, looks like our teams are going into battle. For the next 2 weeks, you are not my friend, you are my enemy,” to which Pratt replied, “@ChrisEvans We both know there’s only one Captain America and his name is Russell Wilson. #SuperBowlBound #LOB #Repeat.” Obviously, Captain America did not take these words lightly, replying, “@prattprattpratt them’s fightin words. Stakes? #whatisaseahawkanyway #somethingtombradyhunts”

At that point, the two made a wager worthy of their hero status. Pratt suggested, “@ChrisEvans OK. Seahawks win you fly yourself to Seattle, visit @seattlechildren hospital as Captain America, waving the 12th man flag.” Obviously, it was a challenge Captain America was proud to take on. He tweeted, “@prattprattpratt I accept. And when the Patriots humiliate your seachickens, I expect Star-Lord to arrive at @chris_haven in a Brady jersey.” Superheroes do exist after all, and they take their football seriously …
