Back in January, CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler said that star Angus T. Jones’ comments railing against the sitcom Two and a Half Men would not effect his future on the show. A few months earlier, the young star and devout Seventh-day Adventist filmed this video, calling the show “filth.” He told fans, “Please stop watching [Two and a Half Men], and filling your head with filth … You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t.” Later, however, he apologized for the rant, and Tassler has said, “The kid’s 19 years old. I’ve got a 24-year-old. Between the ages of 19 and 24 there’s been plenty of things my kid has come out and said that I wish he hadn’t, but the bottom line is cooler heads prevailed.” So all seemed to be well.
But now, after the show’s other two stars, Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer, have signed on for an additional season, it looks like Jones may be phased out after all. The network says that he may return in a “recurring role,” though Jones will not be a full-time cast member. Also, we may have buried the lede here: Unfortunately, Two and a Half Men is coming back for another season …
