Since 2002, U2 frontman Bono has been advocating for African poverty relief through his DATA organization and later the ONE Campaign. But the iconic spokesman for foreign aid has recently come to the “humble realization” that capitalism is integral to giving vulnerable communities a hand up, rather than a mere hand-out. “Job creators and innovators are just the key, and aid is just a bridge,” Bono said recently at the F.ounders tech conference in Dublin.
