It’s no Gotham City, but Taubate, Brazil has hired a Batman impersonator, 50-year-old military retiree Andre Luiz Pinheiro, to patrol its crime-ridden neighborhoods. Police recruited the masked vigilante in an effort to have an approachable presence in the communities, and a recognizable beacon for lost children. Because children who are lost always look for the 6-foot guy in the black bat costume.
