Bono Thinks Christian Music Needs More Honesty

BY RELEVANT CULTURE May 10, 2017

Rock legend Bono appears in a new video from FULLER Studio, and in this clip, he wonders why so many themes found prominently in the Psalms—like hubris, rage, tears, searching—are missing in modern Christian music.

In the discussion with David Taylor, director of Brehm Texas and assistant professor of theology and culture at Fuller Theological Seminary, the U2 frontman discusses the power of the Psalms for all Christians.

He also explains how the Psalms underscore the message of Jesus and His call for justice.

In another clip, Bono reflects on the power of the Psalms to be brutally honest, and why today’s artists should feel the same impulse to be vulnerable about their feelings about God.
