Meet the Heroes Behind the Human Chain Who Saved a Drowning Family
You may remember a viral story from last week about a vacationing family who got stuck in a riptide, and nearly drowned at Panama City Beach, Florida.
Thanks to some quick thinking by some fellow beachgoers, they were saved. About 80 individuals formed a human chain to reach the family and pull them to safety.
This week, some of them appeared on Good Morning America.
As powerful as the actual story was, the interview is equally as moving. One of the rescuers explained that the chain was made up of complete strangers: “That was the humbling part for myself was to see all different nationalities, people that don’t speak the same language, races, shape, size, religion—it didn’t matter at that point.”
