The Internet is not letting Lakewood Church pastor and televangelist Joel Osteen off the hook after he posted a tweet encouraging others to enjoy the “simple things in life” even if you don’t “have a lot of resources.”
It’s the simple things in life that bring us the most joy. You may not have a lot of resources, but if you have family, you’re blessed. If you have your health, you’re blessed. If you can look up at the stars at night, you’re blessed.

It’s not an uncommon sentiment to hear from a pastor, but many online users pointed out that Osteen might not be the best spokesperson for that message. After all, Osteen’s estimated net worth is at least $50 million, and his two homes in Texas have a combined value of $13.4 million.
