Former child actress and U.S. diplomat Shirley Temple Black has passed away at the age of 85. As a child, Shirley Temple was one of the most iconic stars in Hollywood before retiring from the movie business at the age of 22, and going on to live a fairly normal and well-adjusted life, which is a nice change of pace. After getting married, she changed her name to Temple Black and later joined the U.S. delegation to the U.N. in the late ‘60s. She eventually served as the U.S. ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia.
