
Harold Ramis, a beloved mind behind some of the greatest comedy classics of all time, has passed away today at the age of 69. After graduating from Chicago kingmaking Second City troupe, he went on to write films like Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Groundhog Day and Stripes. He also directed many of those films, including other gems like National Lampoon’s Vacation. His death is being mourned by the many comedians he influenced, including Steve Carrell, who tweeted: “Harold Ramis. Funny, gracious, kind hearted. A joy to have known you.” And Dan Akryod posted on his own Facebook page: “Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my brilliant, gifted, funny friend, co-writer/performer and teacher Harold Ramis. May he now get the answers he was always seeking” …
