Both Amy Poehler (Parks & Rec) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men) were expected to take home Emmys last night, and both got shut down. Rather than gripe about it, the two threw a “Loser’s Party” in Soho, because they are the best. The only rules: if you lost, you got in for free. But if you won, your admittance fee was a thousand dollar donation to World Wide Orphans (also, you had to check your trophy at the door. Obviously.) It’s hard to imagine having that kind of money on hand just to attend a party, but that’s Hollywood for you, and the pair’s party ended up raising $30k for the charity. So, all told, it’s all just about the only non-boring thing to come out of the Emmys this year …
