Yes, you read that right. Mumford’s Ben Lovett will curate the collaborative album called Metamorphoses, which will support Global Citizen, an advocacy organization that aims to end extreme poverty by 2030. The album will feature 12 original songs inspired by words and stories submitted by fans and activists. Pop singer Ellie Goulding will also contribute, along with more artists that are yet to be announced.
“Metamorphoses has the potential to break down our preconceptions of the voices of creativity, what different people around the world are thinking and who has the right to be heard,” Lovett said in a statement. “Artists like Kanye West, and The National are doing something globally important that is touching people down to their DNA. And these masterfully creative people are going to be interpreting incredible submissions from people across the globe … I’m truly excited to see what we will create together.”
The album is set to release in the fall.
