Kevin Spacey Accused of Sexual Misconduct With a 14-Year-Old

The sexual assault scandal currently rolling through Hollywood has come for House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey, who has been accused by Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp of sexual misconduct in 1986, when Rapp was just 14.

As Rapp told Buzzfeed News, he and Spacey had been cast in a Broadway production when Spacey, then in his mid-20s, invited Rapp to a party. At the party, Rapp says, Spacey put Rapp in a bed and laid on top of him. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me,” Rapp told BuzzFeed News.

While neither Spacey nor his rep responded to Buzzfeed’s request for comment, Spacey later released a statement over Twitter, in which he said he does “not remember the encounter” but says that if it did happen, it would have been “deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.”

Spacey also came out as gay in the Twitter post, something which has been a rather long time in coming, as Spacey’s sexual orientation was rather well-known in Hollywood circles even if the actor himself had not explicitly come till now. He was widely criticized across social media for using his apology for sexual misconduct allegations as a means to come out and, some critics said, muddy Rapp’s narrative.
