Two CCM stars have joined the cast of Tyler Perry’s upcoming Passion musical, which will be broadcast live on Fox on Palm Sunday. Michael W Smith, who will play one of the disciples, and Yolanda Adams join Seal (Pontius Pilate), Telenovela’s Jencarlos Canela (Jesus), Trisha Yearwood (Mary), Chris Daughtry (Judas), and others for the musical play that is a modern-day retelling of Christ’s crucifixion. The performance will be broadcast from New Orleans, where Perry’s contemporary take on the New Testament story takes place.
