Jennifer Lawrence knows when it’s time to call it quits.
The Hunger Games actress announced that she dropped out of Adam McKay’s upcoming film Bad Blood. She was slated for the lead role playing former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes — and her decision is all Amanda Seyfried’s fault.
Lawrence made the decision to step away from the project after watching Seyfried’s portrayal of Holmes in Hulu’s The Dropout.
“I thought she was terrific. I was like, ‘Yeah, we don’t need to redo that.’ She did it,” Lawrence said.
Seyfried won an Emmy for her portrayal, and was praised for nailing Holmes’ determined attitude and uncanny voice. It seems Lawrence didn’t want to step into a competition. She probably made the right choice.
