Grammy Award-winning artist Lauren Daigle stopped by The Today Show this morning to sing not one, but two songs off her upcoming self-titled album.
Daigle first spoke with host Hoda Kolb and about how her new album was “healing for her” as she walked through a difficult season.
“I’m always on the quest of revival,” she said. “But I feel like I really learned my voice again. After feeling animosity — you know the world at the time was just in this pickle and I needed to see the humanity in the world again.”
She also explained her decision to host a prayer vigil in lieu of a concert previously scheduled in Nashville on Monday night.
“That kind of loss is something I can’t even imagine,” she shared. “But if there’s one shred of hope I can give people in the midst of such a horrific time, that is what my heart longs to do.”
Daigle then performed “Thank God I Do” for the first time on television.
She also sang a brand new song off the upcoming record, “Waiting.”
The first 10 songs off Lauren Daigle will drop on May 12, and the other 10 will be released later this year.
