NBC’s late-night shake-up is finally complete. The network has announced that Saturday Night Live head writer and “Weekend Update” anchor Seth Meyers will take over Late Night when Jimmy Fallon moves to host the Tonight Show in 2014. Meyers will stay with SNL through the fall, but will leave the show for good when he begins his new hosting duties next year. Don’t expect Meyers to completely abandoned his “Weekend Update” shtick though; he said that one carryover he hopes to bring to his new hosting gig is a “two-shot with talented, funny people.” Segments when celebrity guest—often in character—sit beside him at his anchor desk for a moc-news style interview have become a staple of his SNL days …
