Ja Morant, the rising Memphis Grizzlies star who is currently the subject of an upcoming YouTube docuseries, was eating with some friends at a Florida restaurant when he decided to make someone’s day. The point guard dropped a $500 tip for his server, much to her astonishment, and the whole thing was caught on film (including her confusion, since she had no idea she was waiting on an NBA player, let alone the 2020 Rookie of the Year).

It’s a sweet clip, especially as the server starts to realize who she’s talking to, but it’s a nice reminder for all of us. Most of us don’t have an extra $500 for an extravagant tip, but a little extra kindness and attention goes a long way.
